Active residence (residence permit) with the right to work in your own company
Immediately after opening a company and based on more than 20% ownership, you can apply for a residence with the right to work in your own company. It´s advisable that the project and activities of the company are real. It must be taken into account that in Andorra some areas of business are not considered as „permitted“. We advise our clients on possible and interesting lines of business to start in Andorra. Based on this type of residence, you will be allowed to work exclusively in your own company and not in other companies. After receiving this type of residence you must stay more than 183 days in Andorra and put down a refundable-security deposit in the amount of 15,000 euros. The process of getting this residence takes approximately 10 working days.
After receiving your residence permit you can proceed with applying for permits for the whole family.
Passive residence (residence permit) without income generating activity
This type of residence perfectly suits owners of international companies or those who receive passive income from personal assets. To get a passive residence, you need to invest 350,000 euros in the economy of Andorra and additionally make a contribution of 50,000 euros to the Ministry of Finance of Andorra. Moreover, it can be quite attractive that passive residents are required to stay in Andorra at least 90 days, which gives them the opportunity to attain a tax resident status, if properly planned and based on OECD criteria.
